Workshop in Switzerland
In conjunction with Stellar Arts Foundation, I'll be teaching a workshop in September 2009 in Soglio Switzerland. The tour is described here. Be sure to mention that you want the photography track.
Presentation for Art Groups
I have a new presentation for photography clubs and other art groups, "Sure it's photography, but is it art?" It was well received by the Skagit Art Association and I am scheduled to give the talk to Boeing Employees' Camera Club, Pilchuck Camera Club in Everett, Oak Harbor Camera Club, and the Bellingham Photography Club, all in March. This is a provocative exploration of the tension between photography and art, and between photographic art and other media ... and how to channel artistic angst into creativity. Please contact me if you are interested in having this program for your group meeting.
"I appreciated the way you added clarity to the idea of photography being viewed as art. This is an area that has had discussion within our organization really appreciated your perspective. You handled that subject with a level of sensitivity, but did so eloquently and I believe it will benefit our group. You've given me some ideas I'd like to pursue."
