M. Denis Hill, QPP

About M. Denis Hill

Denis' photographic experience includes covering drag and NASCAR races for
several automotive magazines, advertising images for software companies and illustrative
images for publications ranging from travel magazines to the catalog of Laguna College
of Art and Design. His first love remains scenic and fine art photography, with Whidbey
Island a favorite subject.

In the early 1990s, Denis was introduced to panoramic photography by a true innovator in
that discipline, Kornelius Schorle. Learning from Kornel and other photographers he
came to know through participation in the International Association of Panoramic
Photographers (IAPP), Denis helped develop the examination for the Qualified
Panoramic Photographer (QPP) designation.

His work earned first place in photography at the juried gallery at the Historic Coupeville
Arts & Crafts Festival in 2002 and 2004, third place in 2003 and has been juried into the
fine art galleries of both the Anacortes and Edmonds (Washington) arts festivals. He has been a
juror of the Art in a Pickle Barn show during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Denis has
taught workshops on panoramic photography and Photoshop at the Coupeville Arts Center
and many sessions on Photoshop at photographic conventions.

Denis' work is currently available online and through Knead & Feed and Monogram in
Coupeville, Washington. He has previously shown at Penn Cove Gallery (Coupeville),
Island Life Interior Design (Langley), Sweet Seasons Gallery (Anacortes), Gallery
at the Wharf (Coupeville), Art Gallery Stella (Coupeville) and Blue Heron Gallery (Coupeville)
.
